Objectives: External or internal pressures on peripheral nerves may result in compression neuropathies. Although compressive common peroneal nerve palsy(CPN) is well known, very few cases with bilateral palsies have been reported. We report a 59-year-old housewife, with recent prolonged squatting, who developed acute bilateral common peroneal nerve palsy with bilateral foot-drop.
Methods: We diagnosed her with nerve conduction studies(NCS) and electromyography(EMG), they were consistent with bilateral deep and superficial peroneal neuropathies, and treated her conservative maneuver as to oriental medical method.
Results: Visual analogue scale is from 10 to 1. Space between the sole of the foot and floor is from 1/2 to 4/6.
Conclusions: After treatment, she can do anything without discomfort, and easily flex her foot.
